Our Process

We make the transition easy.

We get it! Introducing new management practices can feel like a giant leap of faith. Rather than a leap, we believe in taking small, easy-to-manage steps.

  1. Introductory discussion to explain the science and common sense agronomy behind what we do. At the same time, we strive to learn more about your farmland, your management practices and the challenges you face.)

  2. We put together a comprehensive plan based on your needs, opportunities and priorities. We will determine which layers of data to collect and include (topography, electrical conductivity, pH and more). Usually in the first year it involves a small percentage of your total acres and grows from there.

  3. Once a plan is approved, we send a member of our team to collect necessary data on your target fields. (eg. soil sampling and elevation mapping using GPS).

  4. Soil samples are sent to the laboratory for analysis.

  5. Data is compiled and integrated into a comprehensive precision agriculture plan.

  6. Results are delivered and explained by one of our partners’ retail agronomists or a member of the Point Forward team.

  7. Instructions for variable rate application are provided in a format that is compatible with your equipment’s onboard technology. It is a “plug-and-play” solution.

  8. Your Point Forward service provider will follow up with you to determine how successful the program was and to discuss next steps for the following season.
